Silhouetted Plane Trees in Greville Smyth Park - Open Edition Print

42.00

This is an open edition print of watercolour and ink painting/drawing of dusk in Greville Smyth Park, Bristol. The sky and hills were both painted in one strong watercolour wash, which means that the white of the paper can reflect through, making the colours very clear and bright. The silhouettes of the trees are finely drawn and beautiful.

Greville Smyth Park is just around the corner from my home. I walk through it often. The plane trees around the edge have been planted close together and have grown long and skinny, with their tops merging into a single outline. They look very dramatic and elegant in the winter when they are without leaves, especially at dusk when silhouetted against a bright sky.

Colourful terraces are very much a typical feature of Bristol, and appear in lots of local art. I've drawn some of the Georgian terraces before. The backs of these little terraces feel much more lived in than the grander taller houses in other parts of the city, especially with the lights coming on in the evening.

The print, at full size, is 51 cm wide by 29 cm tall.

This is a giclee print, in archive quality inks (guaranteed not to fade for 100 years) on 285gsm Portrait White paper, which is a high quality acid free art paper.

The original painting is also available for sale.

These prints are printed for me by Niche Frames, in Bristol. If you would like a print of this image of a different size, please email me: rebecca@rmillerart.com. Orders of bespoke prints usually take around 10 days from the order date.

I have tried to choose images of the print that accurately reflect the appearance and colours of the artwork. However, colours may appear differently on different computer screens and in different lighting. If you wished to return the print, because the colours were not as you are expecting or for any other reason, this would be covered under our normal returns policy, so long as it was returned undamaged within 30 days and the usual conditions were met.
